ArtAndie Bottrell began creating art at an early age thanks to her mother, noted portrait artist Audrey Bottrell. At 17 Andie spent a year in Gorizia, Italy studying art in various mediums from abstracts to sculptures to mosaics. In the years since, Andie has continued to experiment in different mediums and techniques.
Andie's solo art shows and group exhibits include: *The Break-Up Art Show - BookMarx - Springfield, MO - May 2016: Featuring over a 100 new paintings, plus poetry journals, middle school love letters, and an interactive "Heartbreak Journal" for patrons to add their own stories of heartbreak. *99x Bohemian Belle - Springfield Art Museum - October 2016: Andie created and styled a tableau inspired by and benefiting the Rose O’Neill items in their collection, featuring several of her ink, line drawings. *Tea Bar & Bites - Springfield, MO - March 2017: Featuring several abstract spray paint paintings. *Lines Were Drawn: Heroes & Heroines - Rosette Studio's: Arts & Letters - Springfield, MO - April 2017: Portraits of her artistic heroes and heroines one line at a time in this considerable collection of black and white line drawings. *Mostly Black & White Show - Springfield Brewing Company - February & March 2018: A collection of mostly black and white acrylic paintings. *99x Cirque Americana - Springfield Art Museum - Sept 2018: Andie was invited back to create and style a tableau inspired by and benefiting the Ben Messick items in their collection. Her tableau included a sculptural recreation of Rose O'Neill's "The Faun Weeps" drawing and became a backdrop for a series of Dysfunctional Family Portraits that patrons posed for throughout the event (seen here). Museum News: In February 2018, Andie's painting Crater Moon Sunset was auctioned off at the Montgomery Museum of Fine Art in their contemporary collection.
