your life
you remember how you felt
your life isn’t a movie
projected on the big screen
it’s a book
the images appear in your mind
and they ebb and flow and blur
the only thing that is concrete
is how you feel
so don’t waste your time
trying to look the part
or dress the set
don’t bother yourself
over picture lock
focus on the content
the words you think
the words you say
the words you hear
these words are building
the story of you
if they’re not telling the story
you want
re-write them
when you look back on your life
you may see a photo and go:
“God, I was so thin back then!
And I thought I was fat!”
you thought it, so you felt it
and that’s how you lived it
now, you see otherwise
but you can never get those
years back
so, stop being
so preoccupied with
your image
it’s never going to accurately
reflect you anyway
you are content
you are copy
you are thought
write a good story
and remember it fondly
